Bristol Zoo
2019

Late last year, we were shortlisted for the new Bristol Zoo competition, looking at how to ensure a sustainable future for the Zoo at their new home just outside Bristol. Our proposals for the competition created a new linear country park as a ‘soft’ paywall for the Zoo, which would provide a landscaped space for community engagement and education outreach. Alongside this we developed new strategies for how the Bristol Zoo could better engage with future users, diversify its income stream and develop the land sustainably, using demountable construction and materials mainly supplied from areas around the site.
